Australian born opera répétiteur, accompanist & chamber musician David Barnard started life in Orange, NSW where he was born before his family made the move to Aldinga Beach, South Australia (south of Adelaide).
He attended Aldinga Primary School and then Southern Vales Christian Community School (SVCCS) before leaving school at the age of 15 to comence his Bachelor of Music studies as a pianist with Diana Harris OAM at the Flinders Street School of Music. He graduated with a B.Mus (performance & and Advan.Dip.Mus (accompanying) at the age of 18.
David moved to the U.K. to futher his music career and was accepted into the Royal Northern College Music at 18 years old to complete his Master's and PhD studies. Due to funding difficulties he was unable to commence these and turned to office work to fund his musical life and based himself in Sheffield, U.K. - his family roots.
He was able to move to London in 2005 after meeting his partner and is now able to sustain a full time career as a pianist all over Europe, UK & Australia.

He is the son of Bob & Margaret Barnard and brother to Rob Barnard.
